Article: The power of assets

Le pouvoir des actifs

The power of assets

The active ingredients in cosmetic products are the ingredients that make the treatment effective. They act more or less visibly on skin problems depending on their concentration in the products. Learn to recognize the active ingredients your skin needs to choose the right skincare products. An overview of active ingredients and their superpowers

Hyaluronic acid

This molecule, capable of capturing up to a thousand times its weight in water, is one of the key elements in the quality of the dermis and epidermis. Naturally present in the skin, hyaluronic acid regulates typical skin properties such as tone, nutrition, and elasticity, strengthening the skin and stimulating its hydration. With age, skin dehydration can occur as the quantity and quality of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases, which can lead to the appearance of wrinkles. Using a facial moisturizer containing hyaluronic acid can then help make the skin smoother. Our Sublime Revitalizing Mask is a real "thirst-quenching" remedy thanks to the hyaluronic acid it contains.

Peptides

Peptides are ultra-potent chains of amino acids that preserve the skin's youthfulness. They act as messengers, instructing cells to produce the elements the skin needs. Peptides can have anti-aging effects by activating cell renewal, for example, by instructing them to create more collagen, which improves skin elasticity.

You can find them in Ioma products, including:

  • Argireline which helps reduce expression lines and furrows.
  • Chronoline which stimulates collagen production and restructures the dermis.
  • Haloxyl which stimulates microcirculation and reduces dark circles.
  • Kollaren which increases skin firmness.
  • Neutrazen calms and soothes irritated skin.

The Flash Youth Eye Contour Concentrate contains haloxyl to combat puffiness, dark circles, and sagging eyelids. You can also find Kollaren in the Extreme Generous Serum to firm your skin.

Vegetable oils

Natural, vegetable oils provide essential elements to the skin:

  • Sweet almond oil has antiseptic, disinfectant, anti-wrinkle and anti-blemish properties.
  • Coconut oil has a wide variety of uses! Regenerating, antibacterial, and nourishing, this oil is also rich in vitamin K, which helps reduce dark circles, for example.
  • Cottonseed oil , appreciated for its softening and emollient qualities, moisturizes and restores the functions of the epidermis.
  • Hydrogenated castor oil obtained from castor seeds has a makeup removing and emollient effect.
  • Borage seed oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid and linoleic acid which have a calming action when used externally on breakouts or aging skin.

Shea butter

Shea butter is the perfect ingredient to counteract dry skin. It promotes tissue reoxygenation, the elimination of metabolic waste, and even helps treat stretch marks, eczema, and more. Find shea butter in our anti-aging treatment , Generous Night Cream, to nourish, regenerate, and protect your skin.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that is effective against skin aging. It stimulates the production of melanin (the pigment responsible for tanning and a healthy glow) and stimulates collagen synthesis, which firms the skin. Enjoy vitamin C in our Youthful Hydration Day and Night Cream (ENERGIZE range), ideal for skin lacking radiance and/or showing the first signs of aging.

Allantoin

It is a molecule known for its restorative and soothing properties. Allantoin stimulates skin renewal, improves its ability to retain water to maintain hydration, and limits inflammatory reactions. It is found, for example, in after-sun care, post-hair removal or after-shave care, and more generally, in products dedicated to sensitive and/or reactive skin. Our Gentle Toning Foam facial cleanser contains Allantoin to counteract the aggressive effect of cleansing and the limescale contained in water.

Plant extracts

Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, healing, draining... the powers of plants are endless! They are widely used in cosmetics and have the advantage of being 100% natural.

  • PA Revivisence is a vascular plant known as “resurrection” with long-lasting moisturizing properties, protecting skin damaged by the cold.
  • Grapefruit extracts have an astringent, toning, and moisturizing effect. It also serves as a preservative thanks to its antibacterial properties. It is found in our Day and Night Repair Gel , a multi-corrective cream for blemish-prone skin.
  • Pink pepper tones the skin, helps fight the appearance of wrinkles, and has antioxidant, antibacterial, and regenerative properties. Find all these benefits in our Vitality Shot serum, a radiance-enhancing treatment.
