Should you choose a serum or a cream? What's the difference?
The cream
The cream is your protection that helps you fight against the dehydration of your skin due to daily aggressions linked to stress, pollution… It helps you preserve the softness and suppleness of the epidermis, to restore the skin barrier in order to limit the sensations of tightness or the appearance of redness and dry areas. Several formulas are developed to respond to the various problems to adapt to your skin type. Whether your skin is dry, oily, normal or combination, the cream will be more or less rich, nourishing or more or less versatile to ensure the necessary hydration. You can use a day and night moisturizer with completely different textures. Indeed, the day one will be lighter to hold the makeup and limit excess sebum and/or perspiration while the night one will be richer to nourish your skin well during your sleep.
The serum
The serum is a high concentration of active ingredients with a light texture, which has a low concentration of water for greater effectiveness. Indeed, it is quickly absorbed by the skin, which is why you should always apply a cream to provide the missing hydration whatever your skin type. No need for a large quantity of product, just a few drops will be enough to provide a multitude of active substances to your skin cells, allowing you to perfectly target its needs.
IOMA offers you various serums, whether you need hydration with the Optimum Hydrating Serum , firmness with the Extreme Generous Serum , radiance with the Vitality Shot or a brightening to reduce your pigment spots with the serum Bright Pearl Essence . For more targeted results, IOMA suggests you make “ MY SERUM ” and “ MY CREAM” ", a tailor-made serum or cream prepared with IOMA In.lab technology according to your skin's needs. Depending on your problem, it can be used as a temporary treatment to support your skin during a period of stress or during a change of season, or as a permanent treatment. This is the case for anti-aging serums that provide daily nutrients necessary for mature skin that needs to prevent skin aging with the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots and loss of firmness.
Directions for use
Always apply your serum before your cream to benefit from the results. We recommend applying your serum only to cleansed, makeup-free skin, both in the morning and evening, and don't forget to apply a cream for added comfort. Serum and cream form a very good makeup base that won't dry out your skin. However, for long-lasting makeup, choose creams with light, hydrating textures that won't make you shine.
